Sanggye Rechen (12th century) and Pomdragpa Sonam Dorje (1170-1249). The figures in the bottom registers represent the teaching lineage of the Transmission of the Stages of the Path as inscribed on the bottom border of the painting. (Tibetan: lam rim rgyud pa'i bla ma rgyud pa la na ma).
Drogon Sanggye Rechen is seated at the left with both hands placed in the gesture of meditation, one above the other in the lap. Seated at the right is Pomdragpa Sonam Dorje with the right hand across the knee in the gesture of generosity and the left performing the gesture of blessing at the heart.
