Painting Style: Bon Art in Amdo

Paintings that depict iconographic subjects and topics of the Bon religion generally follow regional art styles. Four main regions can easily be distinguished by painting style. They are West Tibet, Central Tibet, Amdo and Kham. The characteristics and image examples below highlight the typical Bon paintings of the Amdo area of North East Tibet.
