Mindrolling Monastery, located in the Drachi Valley of U-tsang, was founded in 1676 by Terdag Lingpa Gyurme Dorje, the 1st Mindrolling Trichen - throne holder. Mindrolling is also regarded as one of the six principal monasteries of the Nyingma Tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.
