Video: Boudhanath Stupa

At the top center is Amitabha Buddha with Chaturbhuja Avalokiteshvara at the lower left and Padmasambhava at the lower right.

At the top right corner is the 9th Tai Situ, Pema Nyingche Wangpo (1774-1853 [BDRC P559]). Below that is Trulku Tendzin Norbu (1589-1644 [BDRC P1690]). At the top left is Rigdzin Tsewang Norbu. Below that is Ngagchang Shakya Zangpo [BDRC P1698].

The stupa was envisioned and built by the Tibetan Nyingma teacher Ngagchang Shakya Zangpo, regarded as the 1st Yolmo Tulku, who is dated to the late 15th and early 16th century. Shakya Zangpo was a teacher of Ngari Panchen Pema Wangyal (1487-1542 [BDRC P1699]) which helps to date the chronology of his activities.
