Interpretation / Description

Yontan Gyatso, the 4th Dalai Lama (1589-1617 [TBRC P177]).

At the top left is Panchen Choky Gyaltsen (1570-1662 [P719]) wearing monastic robes. At the top right is Heruka Vajrabhairava. The wrathful protector deity at the upper left is Shadbhuja Mahakala. At the bottom center is 'Outer' Yama Dharmaraja.

དུས་དགྲའི་དབང་པོའི་མཐུ་སྟོབས་དྲག་སྦྱོར་གྱིས། ནག་ཕྱོགས་བདུད་འཇོམས་ལ་ཐོགས་མེད་ཅིང་།
ཡེ་ཤེས་མགོན་པོའི་འཕྲིན་ལས་ཀུན་བསྒྲུབས་པའི། བདེ་ཆེན་ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྒྱལ་པོ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས།

"By the power and strength of the wrathful practice of [Vajrabhairava] (dus dgra wang po),
Subduing the evil forces of Mara without difficulty,
Accomplishing all the activities of wisdom Mahakala,
To Dechen Chokyi Gyalpo I pray."
