Interpretation / Description

Buddha Viranandi (Tibetan: pa wo gye) or the Buddha Brahmadatta (Tibetan: tshang pa jin).

This image belongs to the set of 35 Confessional Buddhas and within that set there is Viranandi and Brahmadatta that have a similar appearance to each other. Viranandi is described as orange in colour, holding a sun in the right hand and a red lotus in the left. Brahmadatta is yellow in colour and holds a moon and a lotus.
