Interpretation / Description

Rolpai Dorje, 4th Karmapa.

At the central left of the composition is Rolpai Dorje holding a jewel in the left hand. At the upper right corner is Akshobhyavajra Guhyasamaja. To the right side, depicted sitting on a rock is Togden Gon Gyalwa, the teacher of Rolpai Dorje who gave him shravakayana vows. To Karmapa's lower left is Rinchen Pal. Followers from India are depicted carrying offerings in the lower right of the composition.
