Interpretation / Description

Bengar Jampel Zangpo.

In the center of the composition is Bengar Jampal Zangpo (1427-1489), who became the principle teacher to the Seventh Karmapa, Chodrag Gyatso. At the upper left corner is Parnashavari seated on a multi-colored lotus and moon-disk. The small figure to the left of Jampal Zangpo is Kyase Togden and directly below that is Black Hayagriva with an Iron Sword (tam drin nagpo chag ral).
