Interpretation / Description

Tsongkapa, Lama (1357-1419): founder of the Gelugpa School of Tibetan Buddhism. At the lower right and left are the two principal students Khedrup and Gyaltsab.

Tsongkapa Biographical Details

At the top center is the bodhisattva Manjushri. At the left is the 1st Dalai Lama and at the right the Indian pandita Jowo Atisha the founder of the Kadamapa tradition. At the bottom center is the bodhisattva of compassion Avalokiteshvara.
