Classification: Deity
Appearance: Buddha
Gender: Male
This subject is tentatively identified as Maitreya although there is no evidence to support this attribution. Vairochana Buddha is also a very real possibility.
The central subject likely comes from the Yoga or Charya Tantras. With the recent discovery of names for the attendant figures, found along the edges of the painting, it is hoped that a correct attribution will be forthcoming in the near future.
