The funnel shaped pandita hat has an extended tip, or or an elongated and sometimes rounded peak. The funnel shaped pandita hat can be found most often with Jamgon Kongtrul and Longchenpa. It appears to be relatively rare and primarily associated with these two teachers and possibly the Nyingma tradition.
