Krishna Spring in Kulu In 1928, Roerich settled for life in the Himalayas, living in Kulu in a "Simla-Surrey" style mansion bought from the Raja of Mandi. He died there in 1947. A nearby Samadhi holds his ashes and the ground floor of his residence, now a gallery, displays many of his mountain landscapes.
